Lane Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery participates in clinical research studies. These studies allow our physicians to remain at the cutting edge of medicine in the fields of dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and Mohs micrographic surgery.

Our studies involve both medical and surgical research, including psoraisis, chemical peels, and innovative reconstructive surgical techniques.

 


 

Treatment of Depressed Acne Scars with Serial High-Concentration TCA
Dr. Joshua Lane studied the use of high-concentration TCA for the treatment of depressed acne scars with Dr. Anthony Yug and his fellowship mentor Dr. David Kent. Together, they published the first histologic examination of this technique previously published in Korea. Additional patients are being recruited to further examine the utility of this procedure.
Treatment of Facial Acne Scarring with Fractional CO2 Resurfacing (grant applied for)
This trial is in the planning phase and will evaluate the use of ablative fractional CO2 resurfacing in the treatment of facial acne scarring. Enrollment will be limited and by invitation only.
Treatment of Fractional CO2 Resurfacing in Skin Types IV-VI (grant applied for)
This trial is in the planning phase and will evaluate the use of ablative fractional CO2 resurfacing in the treatment of skin types IV - VI. Enrollment will be limited and by invitation only.
Tissue Bank (affiliated with National Cancer Institute)
This study is a multicenter prospective research trial involving histologic examination of skin cancer tissue.
